Default LS6 - PCV line leaking, causing problems?

I noticed my PCV line (white tube on drivers side valve cover, right?) was leaking oil right where it comes out from the valve cover on the driver's side head. Is there supposed to be some gasket there or something to prevent this? I asked a mechanic and was told that it won't harm anything, I'll just lose oil over time. Well, that doesn't sound right anyways. Why is it leaking and what should be done to prevent it? Aren't I losing oil pressure because of that or something?
