Default Power increase over stock tune

How much power is left on the table with the stock tune on a stock car?

How conservitive is the stock tune?

Any benefit of a tune on car with minimal mods such as cat back and a lid?

id like to know the same thing myself. the old fox body mustang 5.0s(87-92) computers were very limiting. there where guys redoing the whole ECM and gettin over 25-30 hp just from the computer alone. hmmmmm...wonder what the ol general has hidden in this OBD box?

the stock tune is very conservative.. on a 2001 fbody the tune commands a very rich 11.7 to 11.4 AFR at WOT. optimum power should be around 12.8-13.0 for an NA car so there is power to be had there.

The automatics have the dreaded torque management?

M6 cars do not correct?

I just got HP tuners but my car is pretty stock just a lid and cat back.

I have parts that I am going to install over the winter. Heads,Cam,Longtubes,5177 dry and True duals.

I am going to experiment with optimizing my tune on my car now so that I "might" have a clue after my H/C swap.
