Anyone Have Any Experience with a GT4202? Just like the title says... Looking for good and bad experiences with this turbo. I have a stock cube ls1 and I and considering going turbo (rear mount). My friend has one of these for sale and I wanted to get some opinions on it. I'm shooting for 550 rwhp now, with the option to turn up the boost after I build up the bottom end.

Do you already have a rear mount turbo set-up???
If not id put it up front....... there is room.
That turbo will do 550rwhp on a 346 no problem... now down th eroad it depends on if ya stay with stock cubes and how hard you really push it...
Is it the 70 or 74mm compressor wheel??

i do not have a rear mount setup yet, but this is not in an f-body and there is little to no room up front because I want to keep A/C.

I believe the 02 designation makes it a 102 mm... I think that's what it says for the compresor wheel diameter. Anyone think any different?

GT4202 should be either the 74 or 76mm version. Like kyle said, thats a big *** turbo, and there are faster spooling turbos with a 74 or 76mm wheel that will perform better.

I originally considered a GT4202 for my rear mount and had a great deal on one. But after asking around most suggested against it. Are you staying with the 346?
Difficult to say with a rear mount. Possibly 3k but could be 3500 depending on how the car is setup, maybe more. TC72 or 76 are good choices for under $1k
What kind of spool are we talking about? What rpms would I see 10 psi at with stock cube engine?

Thanks guys... I will have to look into the TC turbos... I haven't heard of those. Who makes them?
BTW, I am staying stock cubes for now.

Turbonetics makes the TC units.
I had a master power temporarily before getting a few garret units. They seem to be a hit or miss. Some have great success and others dont get much out of them. I think a lot of shops will recommend something else. I have a .96 MP exhaust housing and thats it, so I can't comment on their performance. It worked fine on my 60-1 turbo but thats all the data I can give. Their construction is relatively solid but not to the specs of a garrett, turbonetics, ect. I ended up selling mine in favor of a garrett 67
