if you dont want to be doing that dont rev it so high
or go get some tuning software and set the rev limiter wherever you want it

why in the world would you need to hit the rev limiter to spin your tires?

No, instead of feathering out the throttle while spinning to try and hook up i just smashed it to see when it hit the limiter and how it would sound, trust me, i would never hit it without a load on it intentionally. I was allready moving, just not sticking to the ground, hell i didnt even dump the clutch to get it to start soinning.

yeah you would have to buy software, or a programmer. you have to flash the pcm somehow. i would say just get used to it and you should be fine

I think 5,850 is the stock limiter. My friends 94 Vette M6 seems to bounce off the limiter there as well, so I don't think A4 and M6 have a different limiter RPM.

Some people here I think go 6K on their stock motor and haven't had a problem.

My tach is right on up to 4K rpm. I haven't tested above that though. I don't feel like slowing bringing it up to 5500 so I can watch my scanner heh. And bringing it up fast means I have to drive fast, and I'd rather keep my eyes on where I'm going then.
