Default wondering something bout a cam in a 94 :)

ok so im breaking down going with a CC305 cam and 918 springs and letting Nitrous go. my question is can i use the opti i have? i think you cn but i wasnt really completely sure. doesnt the cam sprocket have the small splined sprocket that goes on top of it? i really want to get into the LOW 7's and get the hell away from spray cause i have the kit hooked up right but it just doesnt like my stock fuel pump lol. car has 139k on it and runs awesome so im thinking sell the kit buy the cam and springs, a set of 30lb SVO's and a walbro. hows this sound? it is gonna be a track car has a 3500 stall and 3.73s so i want the cam i use to make GOOD low end torque and good top end power to about 6200. also kinda want to stick with stock heads. i love the car the way it is but i just want more from it i dont have any other options and th nitrous is geting expensive i could have had the cam with as many bottles as ive filled at $50 a pop. i have all art #s for what i need so just let me know if ill have to change my opti (i dont have a prob with the non vented so keep neg. comments to yourself and am not swapping unless i have to) i know people think the vented is better but my non vented lasted me 135k so im keeping this one plus i have a spare brand new one

You don't have to change opti's, just make sure the cam dowel is the correct length. BTW you'll need a good set of heads or a real light race weight to go low 7's with that cam. High 7's would be a nice goal for that setup.

You can a go a little bigger with the cam if you stay with stock heads. I have the cc503 and rev to 6100 and it is bigger than the cc305 you are looking at. Also if your opti has 135k miles on it I'd change it when you do the cam because chances are it doesn't have much longer to live. Plus when you pull the waterpump it will spew coolant all over the opti.

i just replaced the opti, the car has 139k now hence why i dont wanna buy a new one and as is the car is already 7.92 @ 86 w/1.77 60' on STOCK motor with no suspension, but i havent taken it back to the track since suspension so it should go mid 7's with cam atleast a 7.7x-7.6x. mainly i want a little more MPH, to get my top end a little better so the LS1s dont walk me up top
