Default Race day video with new converter

Finally got the car up and running (for the day) with the new converter (Yank SS3600) and mellow cam combo. Ran 11.63@118.67 with a 1.64 sixty. The sixty's were alright for being heavy 17's at the corners. Ellis did not have a chance to very launch rpm to get the best sixty's, we also need to change timing and fuel (CCC drag day and did not want to change combo). Last years sixty was a 1.52 with a Vig 3200 (but that was with skinnies up front) and optimized launch rpm for my combo. I did get one run to play with but the opti took a crap again just past the 1/8 mile so, Ellis towed me on home To bad, as that would have been an easy 11.5@119 run. Race weight is 3725-3750, DA was 1825 on this pass. Here's the video:http://video.ls1tech.com/video/089e8...97004d6b6f.htm I think with some tuning, launch tweaking and skinnies I'll be back at 11.3 mark with this converter (I hope). If not RE-STALL time....

LMAO @ the Ford Pickem'up. Was that squeal mid-track you, or just background noise?

BTW whats with your sig and that 1000gph fuel pump? All the 255 rated ones are Liter per hour, and thats only 68gph.

Isn't there a problem with my whole sig?

The squeal sounds like a car in the burn out box....

thats hilarious. I actuall read your post, checked out the vid, then wondered what your setup is. so then I read your sig. goin "wtf? huh? oh, this guys a jocker" but it is funny. my fav. was the HIGH stall 1600rpm conv. you should make it say "race" converter though.

so, what IS the setup? spill.

Done
401 motor 12.5 to 1, small 230ish cam, strange 12 bolt-3.73 gear, long tubes.

And to damn heavy with the cage, subframe connectors and 12 bolt. The last weigh in for the PIG car alone was 3525 with 1/2 tank of gas It's about a 1 tenth slower than Ellis's (twofast4lv) car with the same tires, weight and DA (before he shoots the juice). So, I have to figure out what the best launch rpm is. And if the converter will pull a 1.6 flat? This SS3600 (3900-4000 rpm flash) does not stall as high as my old (broke) PI 3200 (4300-4400 rpm flash) and that's hurting the sixty's somewhat. If not, I'll re-stall and add a few hundred rpm (still need it tight enough for the 150-175 shot going on it).

Very nice....tighter for sure. I can hold 1700 rpms at 40mph in 4th gear (flat road). My other verter was at 2000 rpms. I like them both and wish I had run the old Vig with stock 17's up front so I would have a direct comparison on the sixty's. The STR of the SS3600 really shows around town. Noticeably tighter, and 2500 rpms will get you ahead of traffic from a light (3.73 gears). Who knows, after some playing with launch rpms and skinnies up front it might do a low 1.5 sixty again...The extension after the shift is about 1600rpms with the Yank, and 1750 with the Vig.

"Tireburnin"
here you go...
This run
60 1.655
330 4.827
1/8 7.454
MPH 93.60
1000 9.724
1/4 11.630
MPH 118.67

Looks to me like I'm still down a 1 tenth from 330 to 1/8 time, even with the 60 foot...It might just be the heavy front tires too. Until I get the skinnies up front I won't know for sure. I figure .05 to .075 faster with the skinnies, it might even be twice that much. What ever the answer, I need to get this in to the 11.3's with this verter before hitting the juice....

Yeah, I'm going to wait until I try the skinnies for sure and with different launch rpm it might come around with what I have. If I just get 1.55's I'll be happy with this tighter verter. The Nitrous shot will be 150-175. Other wise I would have bought a SS3800 or 4000 instead of 3600.

Skinnies should definately get you the gains you're looking for. Good luck and I hope to see an update soon.

I never found any gains in the 60ft with skinny's. It IS even harder to get the Stall up at the line with out pushing the car to far. My car has never 60'd better with the Skinny's on. it HAS made a huge differance in the R/T when the car yanks them out of the beams ...but that is only on juice.

Your other converter just flat hit harder on the line. This one does not hit as hard but felt better on the top end the car just needs dailed in. I am pretty sure it should run in the 30s no problems

I still think we should get a Money Maker kit for it like mine. Nice clean install and easy to use. 200 shot out of the hole and it will run 9s to
