Default cc503 A4 shift points?

Right now my car (A4) is programed to shift at 5600 and my rev limiter is set at 6200. I had it to the track the other day and wasn't full impressed with my times (13.25 at 106.3) and it seems to not be as strong as it could be when it shifts into 3rd. Based off my dyno graph where should my shiftpoints be set at?

5600 is too low with a cammed car. That might be fine for stock. Bump it up to at least 5900. You're still making power there.

I think your bigger concern though is traction. 106 mph is good for mid-high 12s if you hook.

My car shifts at 5600rpm now, anyone have any idea what rpm it goes into the next gear with my 3.73's? because I want to make it so when it shifts into the next gear its at a nice spot making good power, so Im not sure whether 5900 or 6000 would be better because I make more a tad more a 5900 than 6000 but it would go into the next gear at a higher rpm if its set at 6000 so I dunno which??

IMHO the dyno operator cut off the pull too soon. I would have like to see the pull continue to the 6100 - 6200 rpm range.

Anyways from what I can see you need to shift at 6000rpm at a minimum. Probably 6100 to 6200. You want the most power under the curve. Track times will tell the story for the exact best shift point.

5600 was way to early. The rpm was probably dropping into the low 4000rpm range upon shifting.

I would like to clarify your term for shifting: Gear 2 and 3 engage at 5,600? When my rpm reaches 5,600 my auto begins to shift? Generally between moving the lever and actually finding the next gear there is a 300 to 500 rpm difference, right?

You made no mention of traction. Was that a problem? The cam you have provides more hp when, over the stock, bottom end or top?

Do you care about mpg, or would you really like to get into the 12's with your current combo? I seriously thought my answer was going to be change gear and take advantage of your cam. Your trapping at 106 in 3rd, right? You also said you felt you made no power after the shift to third, right? In other words you can eat a box lunch between the 1/8 and the 1/4. You made no mention of rpms at launch. A little wheel spin might make things happen naturally quicker. Improve your et and change nothing.

I think you're a smart driver to limit your rpm's.

Yea they engage at 5600rpm according to LT1Edit however the tach reads 6000 but its known for them to be like 400-500rpm off in the high rpm range. Traction was fine and my cam gives me power from 1800-5800 according to Comp Cams. I just held the brake and floored it off the line at idle and yes I trapped 106 in 3rd.

I may run it again as is and see what happens but I talked to my tuner and were gonna change the shift points to 6100 and then I'll take it to the track and see what differences there are. I hear people spin bearings etc. at around 6200rpm plus so I think I will set it at 6100 and see how that goes what do you all think?
BTW by raising my shift points to 6100 I will engage into the next gear at about 4750rpm which is 35hp more than where Im engaging at now which is about 4250rpm so there has to be some decent gains from doing this I hope.

From looking at the graph, I'd say the shift point should be 5900-6000. You seem to be still making power there.

Im pretty set on having the car shift at 6100rpm now but does anyone think I would benefit by stretching it out to 6150, 6200, or even more? I want to get the most out of my cc503 and the best track times but I do not want to run the risk of spinning a bearing etc, what do think?

The track is the best place to see where it should shift best, by you chart i say 6ish, give or take, you can usually feel when a car is falling on its face out of power, if the rev limiter is not stopping it.
