Is Free Ram Air worse?
I had done this mod around springtime, and i was reading that its not tht good, so i looked at my filer and it was COMPLETELY filled with flys and whatnot. So i had another spare intake, and swapped to the original, along with the whole fuel system cleaner, and oil change. After startup my SES light went on and shut off a little while later, woudl tht have something to do with the computer realizing that there was less air being sucked in then before? Anyways i noticed a pretty decent size in power? and IDK why.I heard Ram air sucks in hot air, which i would think would be worse. Does any of this sound logical?

fra draws air in from ahead of the radiator...so for the most part its ambient air temp that is going in.
the fact that it has debris in it shows that it's drawing air from outside.
change your filter more often.
my SSRA get cleaned at every oil change...at least a rinse with the hose.

dude the fact that u find bugs and what not in there should tell you that the intake is sucking a lot of air which is good just keep the ram air and get a k&n filter and clean it evey 2 to 3 weeks then ull be fine believe me whin i first cleaned my filter it was night and day

Logic dictates the more air you are sucking in the more dirt will be in there. It goes without saying then that you will have to clean out your filter more frequently but I wouldn't look at it as a bad thing unless you don't clean out the filter and it gets clogged with dirt.
