welding a broken T56 housing
has anyone in here had a T56 that needed to get the housing welded? If so, how did the shop go about doing it? i obtained a surface crack just big enough to leak out all of my trans fluid. i want to get it bevel welded but i realize welding aluminum is not the easiest, anyone have any tips for me?

Well i had my bellhousing welded and my oil pan welded. I knew the guy and he does one hell of a job. bevel welding I would suggest bevel welding it, two or three passes on it. But the biggest thing i would stress is getting somebody good, its not super duper hard, but I would imagine some **** could get screwed up.

yeah its on the underside of the tailshaft housing, but the bellhousing broke because the bolts came loose and the torque forced a crack in it, but the other crack was from bottoming out on a manhole cover.
