???Gears???
hey all little rock friends. i'm stuck on this one. u all know i got that black 98 z28 m6. i want to get gears when i get back from the desert in 3 months. if i go with 4:10's or 3:73's what else would i need to do to my car for it to hold up with the new gears?
also, what are the pro's and con's of each gears? what the difference in performance and speeds?

It really depends on your mods and what u want out of your car.You being a 6speed you might wanna consider waiting on gears till u have enough money for a 12 bolt or 9inch rear end.But when u do decide on which ratio Most A4 go with 3:73s and 6speeds go with 4:10s If I were u Id go with 4:10s.I gained 3mph and 2tenths in the 1/4mile after my gear swap(A43:73s).

i used to have 4:11's in mine but couldn't stop the gear whine so went back to stock. i liked em but consider your first gear useless, it will just burn the tires off the car. it pulled pretty hard but i wouldn't recommend em unless you do the track thing a lot and are set up to stick to the ground. i'm gonna go with 3:90's here soon. i think they will be the perfect ratio for a mainly street driven car.
