Default very light film on headlight..what paper to use?

I have a light film on one headlight and i know what some of you do if it's really bad, but since it's very light and only noticeable with the headlights on, can i just use some straight sand paper to get it off? If so what grit? 2000? or do you put some water on there before rubbing with sand paper?

Never had to remove any residue on my old Camaro but I did on my beater F-150 and I used that Meguiar's PlastX or whatever it's called on it...it worked out pretty good...I'd try that for a start and go from there...that's just my .02

That protective coating is tough as hell, I used a DA with 400 to first remove the film and then came back by hand with 600 wet and final was 800 wet.

The heavy 3M compound works great, the headlights arent the soft plastic like tail lights and it takes a lot more effort than you might think. Dont waist your money on the plastic specific polish, regular polish compound works like a charm.
