Exclamation Cam swapping... What accessories to buy?

I plan on swapping out the cam and heads on my car (listed in sig.) i will most likely go with this cam or one close to it: 233/239, .595/.603 112 LSA.

My question is what are ALL the extra parts needed, and be specific, that I need to get to go with this cam? Like springs and oil pump and such...

Also, which heads would you recommend?

Get the cam package from wherever you buy the cam from, it will have your springs, pushrods, gaskets, etc. You should get a ported ls6 oil pump and ls2 timing chain. There are hundreds of threads that cover this in the internal engine section.

Yup dual springs, titanium retainers, hardened pushrods, new ported ls6 oil pump, gaskets, ls2 timing chain. As for heads there are a ton of options out there, so how much are you looking to spend? Livernoise, Patriot, TSP all make good ls6 style heads. If your looking for max effort then AFR, Trickflow, ETP, etc are all top of the line.

You will get varying opinions but id say for a 233/239 cam then probably some AFR 205's. You might even be able to run ETP 215's, especially if you plan on going bigger CI in the future but Id say a good set of AFR 205's would suit you well on a stock 346. They are proven performers and make awesome power. Are you stuck on that cam or would you be willing to go a little more radical? There are some other good combos out there with the AFR's running different cams making almost 500 rwhp N/A. If your willing to go a little bigger cam id say try the G5x3 by LG motorsports along with the afr 205's. Toss on a fast 90/90 setup, full exhaust, and a good tune and you would be over 450 rwhp. The 233/239 isnt a bad cam, but there are def better cams out there with similar cam profiles.

o and get a bigger intake manifold and throttle body to feed plenty of air to those high flowing heads.

if I get an LS6 intake, would that be good enough for that size of a cam and good heads? of should I get a bigger intake? like 85mm

ls6 is a pretty decent intake, there is no doubt you will see gains with a fast 90/90 over the ls6 intake but that fast will run over a grand. so if your on a budget an ls6 intake is a better choice IMO.

The bigger the cam and the better flowing the heads the more the fast 90/90 combo will help out. If you were to go with a setup such as a g5x3 and AFR 205's (or a similar head) a ported fast 90/90 combo would be worth a good 15-20+ rwhp. However, as someone else stated the ported fast 90/90 combo is not cheap. Figure it will run you about $1200 so that would be an additional $900 over the cost of an ls6 intake for a potential 20 rwhp.
