I hate to tell you this but it needs to be returned to the manufacturer. It sounds as they need to work on the QC over there. Are there even holes that could be taped? If so I would contact them to see if they are ok with you making this repair.

Yeah there are bolt holes it just they have no threads. The guy i bought it from used it for seven thousand miles he said. So i imagined it should bolt right in.

Ok my bad. I forgot how they build those units. You are going to have to use long bolts with nuts I believe on that converter.

ok i got a bolt through the hole but there is not enough clearance to get the washer / nut on the back of the bolt. It hits the bacjk edge of the converter. Any more ideas ?

Can you put the bolt in from the back and put the washer and nut on the front?

you may need to get a shorter bolt or grind some from the end of the ones you have .Shorter bolt preferred.

Some of our very early models of the HP/Street were not threaded and occasionally, someone will ask for it not threaded, so they can move to a nut and bolt style mounting. It sounds like this converter is one of those 2 possibilities. While it was purchased used, we stand behind the converter and will thread it if you would like. Short of grinding the bolt head to fit, or finding a short headed bolt (which we do not have a supply of anymore), that may be your best option. We will also refresh it while it's here and restall if you like, even thought it is likely not covered under warranty anymore. We will do it for free for you, if you would like.
