Default Help me build my motor...

Starting to think about my new project build.

Going to be a carbed ls1 with a plate in a fox body.

Heads are ported 98 heads milled 35 thousandths with a valve/port job blah blah flow 300+ at 600 etc etc

stock ls1 block and stock crank will be used.

what rods and pistons would you all go with (forged etc).

Cam will be ground to match the heads and intake after I get the intake done by the guy who did the heads.

What plate would you run (or other nitrous kit) and any other suggestions on what you all might do.

I figure it should make around mid 4's on motor and dump 200 + of sauce on top of it if need be.

Tranny will be either th 400 or glide...leaning toward glide for longterm growth as thinking about possibly backhalving the car eventually.

I think you pretty much got everything covered, you can use any carb plate nitrous kit you want that will fit the intake manifold, spread bore, square bore, whatever. I'd order custom pistons set up for the gas, it won't hurt you that much and you can add another stage of gas at some point when you feel the need to go faster (it'd take me about 3 months or one loss out on the street).

I don't race on the street but I understand.

I was just curious as to what rods people prefer to go with, and maybe just an off the shelf piston.

andrew91gt, not to be a dick but if the company you posted up is not a sponsor of ls1tech you should take the link down as there are other sponsors who build engines and pay to advertise on ls1tech.com

I looked i nthe P's really quick and could not find them as a sponsor.

Don't worry he did it as a joke. Proline is who built the motor for his outlaw car that I work on as pit crew for him...
