Default Fast 90 to much??

Is a Fast 90 intake to much for a bolt on car? I may be working out a trade for one. Will I gain any power? Any disadvantages? I plan on swapping a cam in it later on, just don't want to hurt the performance till I get around to it.

i dont think they hurt performance-they say their is a gain of 10-20 hp gain when they are just put on-

also they cost a bit -so imo they must be good for something-also they can be ported for more gains in the future if the hp bug sets in-

it will respond well to the cam also if u have not got the ls6 intake already-

a lot of people have got them so they must be good-

get a good 90 ml t/b to suit like holley etc etc-

Once when i was at Cartek in Garwood, NJ I asked them about the fast 90mm vs ls6 and they said that unless forced induction it was worse than ls6. I think because the velocity stays up with more flow on ls6 but fast 90 is just too big and air velocity slows and i think this takes away from torque. Maybe they were recomending based on price or maybe not. I'm not sure.

If you are planning on a cam, I'd go with the FAST so you will be prepared.

Especially if it is an even trade. Thats an awesome deal.

I already have a LS6 intake, and no it wouldn't be an even swap (the intake is brand new) But then I would need a TB as well. I'd like to have it, but not really sure if it would be practical. If I knew I'd gain 10-15 rwhp I'd take it in a heartbeat.

That's weird because I know for a fact that at least one of their customers, WS6TransAm01 (Alex) is running the FAST 90/90 combo and Cartek h/c and makes close to if not over 500hp. If Julio and the guys at Cartek thought a LS6 was better, it would still be on his car.
