Default Can you get out of tickets with your CAC card...

I've been pulled over more times than i can count for the dumbest crap. I've also been with other people that flash their CAC that get off too. I still have yet to get a ticket. Just flash the CAC and I'm usually good to go. Has anyone else had similar success?

I've gotten pretty lucky by using my CAC card after getting pulled over off base a couple times. Doesn't work all the time though. Still got two window tint tickets even after playing the dumb out of towner military guy, both from the same township though.

I got stopped for 160 in a 55 by a unmarked sheriff car. He let me off with a strong warning because I just got back from Iraq.

Back on topic they see it everytime I get pulled over since my license is expired

the most it's gotten me is a "military discount" so instead of writing the ticket for 85 i'll get it for 79+ which nets me about a 10% discount on my ticket. i've only ever been let off once. and i was in cammies, driving home on leave. and it was right after Sept 11th. i was doing 85 in a 65 on the interstate in Oklahoma. and the cop let me go.

otherwise, i gets the tickets...

Can you get out of a ticket with a CAC card????

In a non military town......maybe....

In a military town....I doubt it....

Otherwise the cop might as well let all the military off the hook simply because they have a CAC card....

Oh, and I've gotten several tickets in this state alone, all the cops knew I was military.....still got a ticket.

I've gotten out of 2 different tickets while speeding on the interstates of PA, and Ohio by the all mighty CAC card. In both instances I was going atleast 20+ MPH over the limit, but was only issued a verbal warning.

I would not hold the CAC in the high standards of being your "get out of a ticket free" card, as mentioned earlier to some it will not matter, or they may expect more from you. None the less, it usually ends up giving you leverage.

Be careful whipping out your CAC... it might get you arrested.

I know around here... military ID doesn't mean squat. I've been pulled over more times in the 2 1/2 years I've been here at Cannon than I have my entire life before PCS'ing here. We have very long, straight open roads here, you see. Plus, the State Troopers don't budge an inch when they pull you over. And they nail people every day on the stretch of highway from base to town.

Cannon seems to be the only place where flashing your military ID doesn't work for me. My past assignments, if I got nabbed for speeding, I was almost always let off with a "warning". I can't say if that's because the cops were cool, or pro-military or whatever... or if I was just lucky.

Local police doesn't give a $hit if you're military or not but state trooper or out of town cop? Yeah, they give me the "Slow down, we need you on the front line..." and hands me a warning ticket.

A lot of the cops around here were or are Guard or Reserve. I've seen a friend get out of handcuffs with his CAC card. Just depends on the day and the cop. If its memorial day weekend or some other high ticketing day, your screwed no matter what. If you catch the right cop on any given day, you can probably talk him down on the ticket with your mil ID, if not get out of it entirely.

i work with a guy that drives a right hand drive SR20 silvia ( i have a bone stock 99 ta) well we pulled up to a light in town, last one for the highway. he gives me the nod and the light turns, i blew him away somehow, by 3-4 car lengths when i let off at 120-130. i dont know how that car is pushing like 345 at the wheels or some crazy ****..anyways about a mile down the road we are doing 80ish talking about it and a cop nails us both but i think the cac helped cause he marked it down to a 69 in a 60 and only 60$ fine. im just happy he didnt catch me at 120

The 2 times I've been pulled over I got off with verbal warnings. Once in Oregon and once in Cali. Their attitude seems to change when they see the CAC card. Both times were for 80+ in a 55. I consider myself lucky though. I'm not going to push it.

Ummm. its not. Unless he has a **** load of work done to it. The SR20DET is the turbo'd an intercooled engine used in the S15 Silvias... and even it only puts a lil over 245 down(rated at 185kW), and thats flywheel. Don't know the weight of these cars... but I'm guessing you should actually of pulled more on him.
