How much more horsepower do you think I will gain with a programmer, Straightpipes, and a ram Air Hood? Any advice woud be helpful.

The programmer is useless, the hood is next to useless (you'll need the airbox to take advantage of it) and straight pipes are worth maybe 5-10 rwhp without headers.

Get a cai, headers, cat-back exhaust and gears. A stall if you're an auto.

Just what I thought, So basically take it to Idaho Speed Center pull the motor drop down $7,000.00 and let thaem build it right. They said they would give it 495H.P. at the rear wheels. And forgot sorry it's a six speed.

495 rwhp N/A will require a bit more than 7k done right...

You have to realize that a motor may be able to be built for 7k, but the rest of the car cannot. If they offered to give you an engine that could put that out, then that price is for crappy parts and a car that will break.

A more realistic solution to your need for speed would be something like one of the Lloyd Elliot (eportworks.com) or Advanced Induction heads/cam setups.

Not sure how that could be done if labor is included. For that much power, you need to go forged, which is not cheap. Otherwise, you are just buying a grenade.

I could see that kind of # and $ with a FI setup, but not 500RWHP n/a with 7k counting labor/machine work. Hell most shops in my area charge like 1k for machine work alone.

Yeah I'd look into that price and see what parts he is gonna use in the build. I'm in the process of doing a Forged 383 LT1 for my Formula and I'm doing all the pulling/installing work myself. The bottom end is gonna cost me over 3K alone and thats with the discount of a buddy who has full access to a machine shop.....He's the one building the motor for me. So I know that 7K could potentially make a 495+ RWHP engine but I'd check into it a little more. If they are pulling/installing/programming it too, That's not too bad. hell I know people with $10,000 in their cars and still aren't laying that down. Good Luck
