Default misfire help

i just came from a 500mi trip. now i have a p0300 code i think it was and my diablo sport read multiple cylinder misfire. so now my car putters and putt. any one know why or could tell me where to start looking. my friend who was following said he saw black smoke ever once in awhile. i put some german castrol 0w30 in 2 days ago. plugs changed in jan07, fuel filter about 3months ago. i have the mods listed below in sig if that help

change ur plugs.. and tell us what you see..

since its p0300 im guessing one entire side will be completly black... if all on one side are completly black check the o2 sensor on that bank and make sure its tight, also check to make sure there are no exhaust leaks at the header flange or around the o2 (collector/y pipe) if there is a leak your o2 is prolly reading the fresh air and making your pcm to think your running lean so to compensate its dumping tons of fuel into that side

also check for any burnt o2 wires


change your plugs and switch your o2's to the opposite side (if it screws up again and its on the opposite side this time) then your o2 is coated with unburnt fuel and is giving false readings.. change it and everything should be fine


this is only if one entire side is fouled out and the other side looks fine

Since he has a predator he can look at what the 02's are doing without swapping them. Check your plug wires, maybe one's arcing on a header somewhere - easy to see in the dark reving the engine. My car has thrown P0300 a couple times over the years, just cleared it and didn't come back.

i took out 2 plugs on driver side...there are clean. took out front two on passenger side they are fouled. went to autozone and got sum nkg iridium ix tr55 plugs and new 02 sensor. are these good plugs? and also what should the gap be with my mods? so what could i do to prevent this from happining in the future?

im running the v-power ngk tr-55's they are like 1.99 each and i have them gapped at .55 and they are pretty good plugs.. ive never used the iridium ones...

can u look at your fuel trims with the diablo II?? if so see how much more fuel its dumping in on the pass. side bank 2
