Installing a Clutch fork bolt in car???? T-56
My clutch fork bolt backed out apparently now my 91 camaro is stuck. The clutch fork slides forward and back and pivots freely when the slave is removed. I can understand a bit of pivoting, but it shouldn't slide toward the front and back of the car. I was on my way home going from 3rd to 4th I push in on the clutch and it just went to the floor. So I drove up the street a little bit to where I could pull off Hulen and onto a side street in a neighborhood. I popped the hood fluid was fine and it wasn't broken at the firewall like the last one I had. I jacked up the car and all the bolts were still in on the slave.
I then got back in the car went to push on the clutch which was firm and not moving now. I try to start it and I don't get anything I feel it try to turn over, but its locked down and wont do anything. I then put it in neutral and it started. (I don't have the neutral switch on it its a conversion from an auto 91 to a manual with t-56)I push on the clutch the most it would let me put it in first and the car died. I then jack it back up again and pull the slave out. Low and behold the clutch fork just slides all over on its shaft. I'm assuming and hoping it is just the bolt and not something inside. I have never done a manual trans before only auto so I'm not sure just assuming.
But anyone would know it shouldn't slide about an inch from front to back its supposed to pivot on its axis not slide.
So back to the delema The car is in front of someones house parked next to a curb. So no pulling the trans out there. I have no money to pay some wrecker service a rediculous ammount to tow it maybe 4 miles to my apartment complex due to just paying a $300 electric and rent. I don't have the tools anymore to pull a transmission nor do I think I can get it high enough to even get out. Is there anyway to put a new bolt in or maybe even tighten the one that is in it (if its still there I couldn't see) with the transmission still installed in the car?

No you need to pull the slave off. This is a LT1 style T-56 then?
You get the slave off you should be able to see what is up in the bell housing.
I have seen LT1 pressure plates break too causing problems.
The clutch fork pivot is not a common failure item though.
If it where me I'd start the car in 2nd & drive it home. You can shift clutchless if smooth, just dont force gears.

LMAO 2nd gear um yea thats another problem the car doesn't have 2nd hasn't for quite some time and I have alot of street lights to go through no matter what way I go home so driving it home is kinda out of the ?. Yes it is a LT1 style has the external slave. I have pulled it off and looked inside, but I have never messed with manual transmissions before only auto so I really don't know what I'm looking for. I do know with the slave off I can grab the clutch fork and slide it toward the front of the trans and the back on the square shapped stud it sits on. I wouldn't think this is normal which leads me to believe that the bolt has backed out.
