Default TH 400 install from an m-6?????????

I did not have time to read all of the sticky because it is just full of questions and not a lot of good writeups. Anyway. I have a TH 400 with a vig converter. I also bought a 98 flexplate with a spacer. I have a tranny mount from a 4l60e. I need a shifter.

I am new to automatics so here are my questions.

First of all, Will this work?

Do I need the spacer on the flexplate?

Will the trans mount work?

What kind of shifter? cheap?

I dont care about the speedo so I dont need to know how to install one.

How to install converter?

Will the stock m-6 driveshaft work? I have a 10 bolt rear.

Thanks for any of your input.

Of course it will work, its not a hard swap.

You will need a converter matched to the LS1 motor, the pilot needs to be longer to engage with the crank. I don't mess with LS1s too much so someone correct me if I am wrong.

The transmission mount will work but have you thought about how your going to connect the torque arm? I suggest the BMR TH400 transmission crossmember with TA relocation. This piece will solve alot of issues.

I use a B&M Pro Stick shifter. Not real expensive and a quality product. Have you thought about what you are going to do with the big hole in your trans tunnel? going to have to cover that up plus your shifter is going to mount to it.

The stock DS will not work, your going to have to have a custom one made.

This is a great conversion for a weekend warrior street/strip car. I would not reccomend it for a daily driver though unless you run like a 2.73 gear.

I had one of the torque arm relocation crossmembers when I swapped over to the TH400, it is an awesome piece.

You can also get a TCI flexplate so you don't have to spend the money for a LS specific converter

I am really liking my th400. I'm really happy I upgraded from the th350, and I still need to figure out why I cracked the case on my th350 and get the thing rebuilt as a backup. My best 60' is a 1.45 but I have a lot more to go on it.

If you ran the TCI flexplate.

Wouldn't the pilot on the SBC turbo 400 converter still
be off or not the same for use on an LS1?
