Default YANK SS3600 vs. SS4000 Track Results. No BS Just hard facts!

I Have been using YANK's SS3600 for 2 years and I absoulutly loved it but started to feel I needed a little more to get the truck out of the hole. I ordered a SS4000 with intentions of back to back comparisons and here are the results.

Naturally Aspirated

Best From SS3600 Aug 24, 2007 -- 3675DA
RT ... .244
60' ... 1.698 (My Best ever w/3600)
330 ... 4.872
1/8 ... 7.551
mph ... 91.27
1000 ... 9.903
1/4 ... 11.877
MPH ... 116.59

Best From SS4000 Aug 31,2007 -- 3525 DA
RT ... .190
60' ... 1.558
330 ... N/A
1/8 ... 7.366
MPH ... 93.68
1000 ... 9.713
1/4 ... 11.685
MPH ... 116.53

WOW what a difference in how the truck 60 foots... Its actually stalling to about 4400. The Shift extension N/A is 1000RPM, I did make one shakedown nitrous pass. A 10.86@124MPH through the mufflers. (mufflers were off on passes above) The Shift extension on the Nitrous passes was about 700 rpm.

I made 7 passes On the SS4000 Every single one had a 1.55x sixty foot. Slowest pass was 11.70@116.1 Fastest is shown above So the converter is very consistant.

I am very happy with the converter. I will have to do a little more nitrous testing to see what it does.

Thanks to Dave at YANK for taking care of me. This was my 5th converter purchace from YANK.

Thumbs up

Hows your around town driving with the Converter ???

Im really looking for a SS3600 but ALOT of people recommend the SS4000.

My car is a daily drivers and I drive probably 500 miles a week so drivability is important to me.

Thanks!

Its deffinatly looser then the SS3600 was but I dont find it to bad. if your tuner adjusts your lock-up points for you you will love it.

I have an ss4000 and it rocks. Best 60fts include 1.60 on motor spinning. The best 60ft on nitrous I got was a 1.46 and I saw in the video it spun alittle but not nearly as much as on motor I think the track prep was alittle worse on motor. This converter seems to flash about 5500 on spray but at the dyno I was told it was flashing to 6200 or so and about 5200 on motor. This converter definetly rocks. Hopefully I will be calling yank in the next few weeks to see about a 4l80e converter. Im hoping me and yank can figure out an awsome converter for my setup. I hope my new converter performs like this. I think I will need something alittle tighter for a 200rwhp shot.

I usually stall it up to 3200-3500 on the footbrake and punch it. I like preloading it as I dont want to shock the drivetrain that much by flashing it right off the line. Im trying to keep my stock 10 bolt intact for now. I seemed to have the best luck launching higher anyways. Btw Black X it is good to see a comparison.

Man, I'm going to have to send my stall in to restall to a 4200-4400. I've been able to pull some 1.6X 60's on manifolds at full weight but I think I'm ready to go bigger after reading these posts.

Great times.

I was just about to post about going from a Yank 3600 to a 4400 and what the difference might be. I did a best 60ft yesterday of 1.62 with good air (DA 1500 and lower), and was wanting another couple of tenths out of my car. I think I am convinced!
