Default A.I.R, What is it?

Where is the A.I.R located on an 02. Is it the same as the EGR for the 98-00?

AIR is the system that pumps fresh air into the exhaust manifolds to warm the CATS up faster, its just for emissions peace of mind really. Doesent do much besides add noise and weight. It turns off once the car is all warmed up so it really is usless the majority of the time.

^Agreed.

Also, no, it's not the same as EGR. EGR is, like, on the front-top of the intake. The part you can see looks like a tube. EGR is not like AIR at all. Not sure where AIR is located, though I lost it with my cat verters and EGR when I installed headers. I just took all the "emissions crap" off.

A.I.R. is Air Injection Recirculation (part of emissions system.) but it is not EGR. It's a pump located just about underneath your drivers side headlight. Theres a fairly large size tube that runs along the top your fender that will lead ya to it. It's basically removed for weight reduction ~10lbs with the hoses. And to clean up your engine bay a bit. It will not throw a light either. Theres a thread on here somewhere with pretty detalied pics and instructions on how to remove it. Im about to do it myself pretty soon.
