Default air pump removal?

well i went out and decided yesterday to take off my air pump on my 02 t/a . I took the pump off and a few of the hoses, but i left the hoses and metal lines going to the exhaust on due to the fact that i don't have the block off's. But i noticed that it didn't set a ses code and i always heard it would if you disconnected it. also i have heard that removing the pump might help you run cooler in stop and go traffic...any wisdom??

If you still have cats on, I would recommend keeping the AIR setup. The Air feeds air to the cats at startup.

If no cats, you can remove it. I usually does not set a code.

really, getting rid of the AIR setup is just a weight/look good mod.

When I removed mine, it didn't set a code instantly. Rather it took a couple of days (driving cycles) to throw the code.
