Hey guys, ive been on a local forum with a bunch of guys from around where i live, by the way its a mustang site, and i ve been trying to explain the roll race concept to them, and they dont understand. Please tell me someone else knows that a roll race shows which car has more power!

There really wasn't any point in making this thread, considering there is already a thread in this forum dedicated specifically to this exact subject ;)

"A roll race proves one car has more power over another?"
In my opinion "Roll Races" were designed for someone incapable of mastering their car off the line.
In my opinion: The only good "Roll Race" is one done on the Bonneville Salt Flats
From the beginning of time, races that proved anything, were always done from a standing start.

I had to come in the thread once I saw Jake's dad had posted something, unfortunately it wasn't as entertaining as I expected. BTW I just cannot comprehend how a roll race will prove something over a dig. Its going to be determined by how the power is applied.

Suffering from a little PMS lately. My rescue K-9 has been snapping at me. His time on earth may be ending. I was required to attend a 8 hr. lease training class. I sell used cars. The 2007 drag racing season is nearing an end.

I feel that racing from a dig proves who is the better driver and who's car is setup better, but roll racing is a better judge of power since it takes traction problems out of the equation.

+1 on that. But then again, there are always other factors that come into play besides just the horsepower itself.

RPM you start the race from a roll at has more to do with who wins than just HP. Driver also comes into it when you race from a roll. Just helps with the tractionally challenged. :jest:

Roll racing doesn't show any skill. You don't even have to launch the car. Just shift it twice. Oh YAY!

I will race anyway I get the chance. If people ONLY want to roll, they dont have enough traction or just cant launch. Rolls are MUCH easier on parts though, and easier to get while driving around. If I beat a guy off line, I would also race from a roll to make sure he wasnt a shitty driver. I want to win both, I hate excuses. If you do both to appease the other guy, youve really won. Hell, usually I give the other guy the jump on rolls too. :judge:
