New turbocar out and testing...
Just showing a new car that is in testing and the runs from this last weekend
Pt88 turbo
402 ls2
Fast XFI XIM
Glide
Air to water intercooler
20lbs of boost and so far a 5.68 with a best mph of 124.9 1.32 60'
Just starting a small local shop building various compoments, but most notably the chassis baseline services. Hopefully the shop does relatively well but of course it is a hobby being turned into a profession, takes alittle time
We were hoping to run in Memphis in true street but need cage updates and an nhra licence before then. But will definatly be out there watching all the awesome cars and catching back up with old peeps from the Thunder racing southern shootout days.

The tires are 28x10.5's but we are going to try 325/50/15's soon. The block has arp hardware, (arp stock replacement headbolts)
The car really needs a rear gear change pretty badly before the 1/4 mile. The 4.10 gear in the car now is not the best for a turbo setup (or any turbo setup for that matter) hahaha. Im pretty confident that the car will run the same numbers if not alittle better with 3.55's BUT because of a little creative tuning in the fast we are launching with 10lbs of boost (have hit 20 by pulling even more timing out at launch) and hitting 20 by the top of first gear, so I dont think the car is suffering too badly for how high the gear is.
We only turn the car 6400rpm and it is very close to that in the 1/8 mile at 125mph
The car is a streetcar as well, still has powersteering. It weighs 3419lbs with the driver, which its also going on a diet this winter

yes its a t4 88... that little bugger is begging for mercy I can promise you.
With a large frame T6 91.5 or 101mm and freeing up backpressure, which im sure we have plenty... Might end up back in 1985 or somthing HAHAHA But all joking aside, the car has exceeded our expectations with this particular setup and we are very happy with it. Trying for 5.5x's this friday
I would say its a safe assumption that next season after some changes and upgrades we will be out with bells on.

I went through a couple of them at the power level you are at on a 408, thought about measuring backpressure?

That being said in a few months we are stepping it up and doing a large frame setup, gear change and much more cage work. But in the meantime just having fun with the car

have you done any back pressure mesurements? I would also agre that pt88 is "begging for mercy" I would guess its almost maxed. My pt-88 on a 406 jumping from 17lbs to 20lbs increased inlet temps almost 100 deg...
very cool any more pics of the hot side?

The hotside consists of flipped truck manifolds that were jethot coated. The downpipe is 4" aluminum.
The car was originally built as a fun weekend car with 6.0's-5.9x's in mind. The t-4 pt88 was a good choice for quick spool and drivability, but it just kept going faster and faster. The owner is offically bit by the HP bug so its about time for changes if its going to go any faster than mid fives.
Even with the backpressure issue the air inlets arent extremely high due to the air/water intercooler (typically 60 degs at launch and 120 when shut down) And it has a very safe and conservative tune... 20 degrees timing @ 20psi 11.3 afr with c16
It will run the rest of the season 5.6x without any issues... but I definatly agree it is maxed, and upgrades are planned
BTW: LTeone... are you a regular at turbomustangs.com?

Your car looks like a great setup, and thier are a bunch of fast cars with those flipped truck manifolds! I have a buddy that wants to do a turbo over the winter, Im thinking those manifolds and my hand me down pt-88 on his ls2.
