Default Spring idenfaction 04 Ls6 243 head

I got a set of 04 Ls6 heads of a CTS-V. These were promised to be bone stock with 4k miles. I was expecting to see yellow springs, but they have only have a pink stripe on the side of each spring. Can some tell me if this correct. Also how can I be sure the good valves are in the head without removing and weighing them?

Thanks,

I have had several sets of LS6 243 heads. Some have had the yellow springs, and some have had brownish-orange looking stripes on the springs. The last set I got from a 2004 LS6 crate engine had these different colored springs.

I have also had a few sets of LS2 243 heads and the same thing, some had different colored springs than the others.

As far as the valves, visually I dont think you will be able to tell. I believe they are supposed to be slightly longer .100", but I dont know how you would measure that with them in the heads. They are definantly lighter though. Just borrow a spring compressor and pull one intake & exhaust valve.

LS1 valves- Intake 99 grams- exhaust 86 grams
LS6 valves- Intake 76 grams-exhaust 63 grams

Thanks,

Here's a pic of what I got now. They do have the triangle under the plugs, so that means there for semi-permanent mold family correct?
