Motor Plate Question

Just to confirm, all LSX blocks are the same dimensions. Right? So I can use the junk LS6 block I have to figure out front and mid plate mounting locations.

Yes and no. The water pump bolts are the same, my LSx block had 2 additional tapped holes that my LS6 didn't. I used an LS1 block to get the motor setup and just drilled the additional 2 holes once the block was done.
