How hard is it to change the valve springs?
With my big block Chev I would bang them with a rubber mallet to get the keepers loose. I'd either rotate the engine so the piston would stop the valve from dropping or blow compressed air in the cylinder. I would then use a spring compressor tool to compress the spring. Keepers would come out, then spring. I'd reverse this to install. Can I do it this way on the LS1? I'm mainly worried about the springs under the cowl. I'd think it would be hard to do it this way with the cowl in the way. I don't want to remove the heads just to install springs. I'm installing a cam soon. How's everyone doing this? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
