Just keep trying anyway you can think of for a while. if that doesnt work i think you have to take the steering linkage apart or shave off the metal casting block on the engine.
but mine went in fine.

yeah I had to take the linkage out. It's on there tight but you just take the two bolts out of the linkage and take a flathead or something to wedge between the bottom part and the rack/pinion. Once you get it pried up you can start wiggling it off by hand. the top part will slide up onto the shaft while the bottom comes off, then you can pull it right off. Take note of where the tires and steering wheel is though cuz I bumped my tires while it was off and it was kind of a pain to get it lined up again. not hard just annoying.

To get mine to fit I had to cut off 3/4" of the casting tab off of the K-member. After that they fit right in. And if your rack won't come off, make sure you unbolted the steering linkage. After that and the obvious bolts it should come right off.

I just took 4 days to get my slp's in my ls1 formula but i was taking my time. total of about 20-30hrs. First of all the car must be high enough. i used the jackstand/bottle jack combos which go up to like 20" and they were ontop of some 3 or 4 inch high blocks. took a lot of steps to get the car up high in front and back. i was lucky on driverside. didn't have to take out steering linkage but your car's different. just take your time, jack up the trans and budge it over. you might have to take the crossmember off - change the trans mount to a poly one while your at it- just 2 bolts. let the trans drop an inch or two so you can push it further to the side if necessary. i did that and had to hammer my headers in with a big block of wood (or rubber mallet) so as not to scratch or dent them. i beat those mothers in. well just the passenger side needed a beating 4 me. make sure it's not hitting any plugs too! Good luck.

Just a question, did you call Flow Tech and see if they had any suggestions? When I put my Kooks on I had the same problem and had to call them. They told me how and it fit right in the way they suggested. Just a thought.
