Alright the car has a built transmission ( not sure to what extent previous owner did it ) has a shift kit and a small torque converter. The car used to have a kick to it shifting from first to second. Now when it shifts it kinda hangs between 15-25 mph. Besides that it seems fine, checked fluid and its where it needs to be at. Only thing different is I had to change the pan gasket and went ahead and did the filter too. This was about 1500 miles ago. Any idea what could be wrong ? Any help is appreciated.

I would hook a scanner or data log it and see whats being comanded,
