found a set of used ls2 heads off a 06 gto for 250.00 do you think this is a good deal?

how do these heads flow ported compared to ported ls6 heads?

Thanks

LS2 heads are the same 243 castings (same heads) as the LS6. Assuming that the heads are in good condition, they have good potential once ported. If you just swapped them with your LS1 heads and didn't change anything else, you wouldn't see much difference in performance.

Agreed, thats a very ggod price for the LS2 heads. The same head as a LS6 head except they have the regular solid stem valves instead of the hollow stem lightweight valves of the LS6s. You could see 15-20hp on a stock engine. One guy on the GTO website gained 29rwhp on a cam and bolt-on LS1 GTO.

Yeah, I just sold two sets for $425.00 each. You can buy them from$375.00-$450.00 usually. Good cheap alternative to ported heads for a few hp.

Note, the 317 casting has the same improved port design as the 243, but the combustion chamber is 71/72 cc for the 6.0 truck with 9.5:1 CR.
