Default 93 Knock Problem

Hey Guys,

I'm having an issue with my 93 showing a ridiculous amount of knock. I know it's because of the rockers, headers, ect... but my problem is I can't convert to an LT4 Knock Sensor or Module becuase it's a 93 Computer. I need to calm down the knock reading so I can start tunning... Anyone have this problem and have any suggestions? Thanks very much...

Tuning wold be best, but this is another option. Buy you have allot of money invested to take a chance on a $3 part blowing up you motor!

Exactly what I would do.

Just make sure that knock is all false, because if you desensitize it and it is true knock your going to have some serious issues.

I'm almost positive its false.. The knock count can reach several thousand in just a few seconds at idle or low revs... Thanks alot guys... Great help

Is it the knock count moving up, or is there Knock Retard. I wouldn't be overly worried about the knock count moving up unless the vehicle is retarding the timing too.

The knock count is moving up and it was retarding timing. I dropped the degree of retard so I could at least get it to run straight for a while. However, I need the KS to record true knock so that I can adjust the timing accordingly. I have no idea if I'm too advanced or too retarded right now. Also is there a specific way to figure out whether the KS is a 3900 ohm or 100K ohm? Thanks again..

You could always give this a try. It's just a simple hardware mod, so you won't do any tunning (spending money) or not running a knock sensor (possible catastrophic event).
