Default Rung off bolts in the cylinder head removal!

Yall may have heard about this, but it was new to me, so I'm passing it on!

I also had 2 bolts that were broken off in the head (aluminum). I talked to the machine shop, and he told me to take my MIG welder, and just keep spot welding on the bolt (NOT TO THE HEAD), and keep building up the metal on the bolt until it sticks out from the cylinder head. then while it is red hot, take some vice grips and grab the new extended bolt, as the vice grips grap the bolt, it robs heat from the bolt and shrinks it just a tad, and turn the bolt to loosen it, and it will come out. I went home and tried it, and I'll be damned if it didn't work!

I'm #1 for not trying stuff like this due to fear of tearing up a set of heads, but it did work.

Another thing, if you build up on the bolt, and try to turn the bolt and it doesn't turn the bolt out but breaks off back at the original point of start, then turn up the voltage on the welder until your new addition on the bolt doesn't break away from the bolt, and you'll be in the clear.
