A 408 with a healthy cam, through an auto with a decent sized converter, expect to see ~500 to 550 at the tires.

now you've entered into a subjective argument -- what constitutes "good" street manners If you simply mean will it drive well, not stall, etc. ?? The answer is all in the tune

Yeah a good tune and it'd be fine... I'm doing a 700rwhp Z24 and my plans include a 6.0 with a big turbo.. It'll be great street manners

why not use an aluminum block and keep the weight down? at that power level it'll have no problem at all. look at how many guys are making over 700rwhp with an aluminum block and stock crank and having no issues. a guy i know is making 850rwhp and then some on pump gas with 2 small turbos and nothing exotic. look up nitrorocket on here and you'll see how simple his combo is and it was all done at home in his garage, minus the shortblock prep & assy. he even made his own headers and all.

no matter what route you take to make the power, it'll be a bad *** ride imo! and how about some pics???????

Default NitroRocket

His ride is in the Chevy Hi or Popular Hot Rodding. That **** is bad ***.I can't afford the turbo stuff right now. Also I need something that can race with down here. Aint to many people have turbo cars around here right now.I will go with the iron block to get more cubes, flat hood, pony wheels and a LOT OF that FIRE.Will have pics this week.

700 hp in a 3000 lb car on the street seems overkill, on a prepped track with big slicks great but it would be a pain on the street imo...

one of the only reasons i'm going with my swap is because of the weight i can get a stang down to...theres no way i can get a camaro down to 2500 or 2600# with out me in it.

700rwhp light coupe will run with a 1000rwhp 3200# camaro all day
