I have a 99 Z28 and am needing to replace the clutch very soon. I have almost 100k on it and it is beginning to slip. I am not too sure what all I need to get to do this. I have been looking at the LS7 clutch kit from SDPC.com which comes with the flywheel for 399. What else will I need since it is a 99. I know I will need a new slave cylinder but will I need to replace my master? Also shiould I replace the pilot bearing? Will the GM flywheel bolts work ok or will I need the ARP? Anything I am missing please add since I have never done this before. Also anre there any better deals out there than the LS7. My car is lightly modded so I really dont need a performance clutch and it is also currently a daily driver!

the stock bolts will work fine. Yes you'll need to replace your pilot bearing. Pilot bushings are more durable than bearings but a bearing will also work fine for you. And your master should work fine also for you. But yes you will need to replace your slave. The LS7 clutch package from SDPC is one of best deals I've found, a lot of people love it, it's very streetable and holds a lot of power and torque. Plus it's pretty inexpensive compared to other packages where you have to buy the flywheel seperate. You should go ahead and replace all the hydraulic fluid in your master. and don't forget about tranny fluid. Plus you're gonna need a pilot bearing puller which I believe you can rent from advance or autozone? Oh and you'll need some RTV for your shifter assy to the trans housing. A buddy and some beer always makes it less painful too hehe

You don't have to upgrade the master if you don't want to like camaroguy26 says. LS7kit-pilot-slave. Sorry not trying to make a debate, have it done on my 1999 TA without the shim everyone says you need also. Works fine and got mine through SDPC also. Words of advice, a remote bleeder is also agood thing to get while your at it, wish I had one when I did the slave. What a pain in the *** and takes for ever There on here somewhere and like $75. And also when you get the bearing puller from Autozone, don't forget to get the Slidehammer while your at it. It's 2 separate things to them . 2 trips to that damn place for the same job really pissed me off, but then again kinda my fault for forgeting.

After 2 SPEC Clutched in less than 5 months, I went with the LS7, new hydrolics and remote bleeder. That bleeder makes a world of difference. I recommend it.

So, what exactly is the remote bleeder? My father works for a GM dealership so I have access to a lift and plenty of tools so that should not be a problem. Also, what is the typical mileage for the stock clutch. Mine is daily driven and has 96000 miles on it.

Well worth the money, I installed mine then saw this posted up with in days afterwards. Now would also be a really good time to put a poly tranny mount in also if you haven't done so already. Hope it helps.

As for the stock clutch, all depends on how you drive the car. I swapped mine out at 120,000. Have done a ton of mileage on the highway though. But then again I've beat the **** out of that thing at times (broke the 10 bolt twice).

My opinion, F the remote bleeder and just drill a hoile in the tunnel to get to the bleeder screw, its so damn easy and you can do the bleeding while sitting in the drivers seat.
