Default Question on fitting Cats - HELP!!

Ok, so if I put 01-02 manifolds or shorties on my car, will the 01-02 Cats fit on it as well?

I ask because I've got gutted 01-02 cats and the passenger side doesn't clear the floorboard and I wasn't sure if the manifold design gets it past the floor board or if GM actually reshaped the floorboard in 01-02.

Thanks!

I can pretty much guarantee GM didn't redesign the entire floorboard for two years of production

Yes the stock cats will fit on shorties. I ran that setup on my Z28 for three years. No problems. They bolt right up. Might wanna replace the studs with bolts though, as they have a tendency of breaking.

As for them hitting the floor, no GM did not remake the floor for 01-02. Maybe you need the "BFH" mod.

That was my thinking too, so I orded a set of '01 manifolds, hopefully that will do the trick. I here there about as good as shorties and just couldn't see spending the some amount on shorties as I would to get longtubes. F'in california blows. I guess I'll run the 01' manis and gutted cats and swap my stock manis and cats back on for smog every two years. Then longtubes when I move.

Thanks!
