Default rhino ramps

So not sure yet what damage has occurred to my car but I had it on rhino ramps on the bottom of my driveway (where there's just a lil incline instead of a big one further up). I just backed the rear tires up onto the ramps. Then I proceded to jack up the passenger side to lift the wheel of the ramp and set it on a stand so I can do my rear brakes. Well the other rhino ramp decided to move and the entire car fell on the jackstand and it didn't hold and the jackstand moved and went into the metal under the car and got stuck in it

Sounds like the problem was using them on an inclined surface...

Rhino ramps are the nicest ramps I have ever used, sounds like operator error to me.

I suggest the original poster delete this thread before many more people see it. It wasn't the ramps' fault.

Many times I will run a car up on ramps before lifting it off them onto jackstands.
The overhangs are long on my car and ramps makes it easier to get under the front crossmember or axle to lift and end straight and level rather than one corner at a time.

I also tend to use a combination of things at once like leaving the ramps under the framerails or the jack under the crossmember even while the car is on jackstands. Few weeks ago a distant relative rocked his car off stands and some time later the meter reader found him after he was already gone.

You shouldnt use ramps on any incline at all. I can barely get mine to stay still on a flat surface. Chalk it up to experience and be glad it was your jackstand and not your head.

i do the same... i ALWAYS leave a jack under the the vehicle after i put it on stands.... always... im scarred to death of getting mooshed...

chaulk the tires, jack it up, put jack stands in, set car on jack stands, and then put the jack under crossmember. Then shake the **** out of the car to make sure it aint going no where (after visual inspection of jack stands to make sure they look good)

The schools here teach you to jack it up then chaulk the tires so the car can "settle" when you are jacking it in the air... but i do not believe in that practice. Sounds like a way to have a car run off to me.

that sucks. once i put my car up on ramps, and before i even did anything my dad put a jackstand under the car for safety without telling me. i realized i didnt have a tool for the job so i backed it back down and 's*** what was that noise?' i got lucky it only busted a couple of screws on a splash gaurd.

I use a pair of rubber floor mats under the ramps. It really helps to keep them from sliding.

All wheel ramps are dangerous. Get a nice floor jack and heavy duty jackstands. I don't even trash pick wheel ramps unless the scap steel pile at home is getting thin.

The Rhino ramps have rubber pads built in so they are far less prone to sliding. They are WIDE and fully supported underneath not like stamped steel ones. They are more stable than jackstands long as they are used properly.
