Default terrible smell..tranny fluid

Just curious...I bought my camaro without a transmission. I threw a new verter and tranny in a day or 2 ago. (just bolted it to the motor and installed the cross member support...still have to make all connections and bolt up converter) Keep in mind, the old transmission was already out...when I cracked the lines off the stock cooler, the most unbearable smell instantly filled the room. In about 30 seconds, some guys 5 or 6 stalls down started looking for a natural gas leak. It is not what I would describe as a "burnt" smell....more like rotten eggs/farts/gear oil smell. Has anyone else ever encountered this before?? Could this have something to do with a possible cracked stock cooler allowing water into tranny??? Just curious. I'm bypassing stock cooler to avoid this possibility.

nothing really....I'm bypassing the stock cooler and have blown the lines out already so whatever caused the smell/tranny to go out in 4 days won't be a problem. I was just curious if anyone else ever experienced such a potent smell.
