Default Need Some Help

I also posted this in the help section but I want some local advice. So for like two weeks now my car has been acting up. At four different times it would not start and the securty light was on, then while i was driving down the road the car just cuts of and before i can get it out of gear it just stars runing again but the trip mileage is reset. I don't know if this is related or not thanks for your help. The car is a 98 formula a4 stock.

thats a tough one.i would start with the battery.make sure the terminals are tight.if they are i would have it tested to make sure its good.make sure all connections to the charging system are tight or have a good connection.good luck electrical problems suck!

Do you have any major rain leaks? I had a 96 Corvette that had a really bad rear window seal. It would leak and fill up the back of the car and all sorts of weird things like you describe would happen. We didnt know it at first because by the time we drove it the water would dissappear. I pulled up the carpet and it was like a lake underneath.

Might be an alternator as well. Did anyone ever put any aftermarket stereo or alarm equipment? The installers are typically hacks. Might have damaged something.

Good Luck with this

I've heard similar problems from the VATS system. Did you try driving with your other set of keys and see if that helps?
