just traded my 70 camaro 383 for my 2000 Camaro SS m6. i want the old school cammed sound and fast horsepower. my budget for the time being only a mere $2500 including shop labor (not enough time or workspace of my own) only mods on car now are torque arms eibachs and lowered.https://ls1tech.com/forums/newthread...newthread&f=4#

get your self a custom ground cam. ~$400.00 ?
LS6 intake- ~$300
Long Tubes- ~$300
Dyno tune- ~$500
Tires- ~$400
you could get more crap.. just throwing that up there

problem is that the car is lowered and railroad tracks, speed bumps and steep driveways are already a problem. long tubes i assume are out of the question for me.

You could go with a mid length like Mac. They will leave some power on the table when compared to long tubes, but it should solve clearance issues and free up your exhaust for that cam.

A proper cam swap is going to cost you over $1,000. $400 is just the cam itself. You will need much more than that to get it done right...

I think most speed shops charge around 1500-1600 for a turn key cam swap. Turn key meaning everything you need to install the cam, the install and tuning. Also, get some headers installed at the same time and that should set you up nicely. Keep in mind that adding power could cause some stuff to break. So make sure you have cash to fix something. i.e. if the rear end breaks or more than likely, the stock clutch(if its still stock) will start to slip.

I keep seeing posts where ls6 intakes are $300, where the hell do you get that? The slp with egr is 5XX

that is cause slp is expensive. Look at junk yards with wrecked cars or a ls1tech member.

Then you need some different springs. Longtubes helps bring out the lope

ls1sounds.com figure out what you like
texas speed makes some agressive cams like the ms3 or ms4 they have a good lope

N I T R O U S actually if i was at your level.. converter will probably do NICE!
its funny how the mod bug works man..
1st was exhaust, then came along the cam + dyno tune, then the heads and stupidily expensive intake & TB, then the nitrous.. what next man? what next?

not all converters suck for dding, but the stock one does sure suck for drag racing.
