Default adjustable shocks

Should the shocks be adjusted to "stiff" or "soft?" Is it different for fronts and rears?

1 being softest and 5 being the stiffest on my tokicos, i set my fronts to 1-2 and the rears to 4. that stiffness reduces the tendency to squat while the soft fronts throw the weight back. the car is just a bolt on L98 with full suspension and i'm doing 1.74 60's on ET streets. car has more in it with more gear and converter but i cant change those out now or atleast for a while.
