Default Who makes 90/10 front shocks - dont want to spend $$$ for QA1s

Just as title says, I have always lived fine with mo Lakewood 90/10 on front of my old thordgen - don't have the money for Koni or QA1 adjs now and need the weight transfer.. Anything?
Been searching, can't seem to find.

No one I know of, I use the strange single adjustables with QA1 generation F springs, fairly inexpensive and work pretty well.

I use the 50.00 CE three way adjustable rears though.

Thats wierd, as big as the aftermarket is for these cars you would think someone would have them..

Do you feel the strange's transfer well? By the look of your sig they do, but my rear lifts when launching so I need a front that transfers quick.. Can you use stock style springs?

I will try to find them,
Thanks.

You can use stock springs but you have to buy adapter plates since they use regular coil over adjusters.

They work well, they are similar to the QA1 R's. Yea, its surprising that lakewood or someone doesnt make the generic 90-10 drag shocks but I havent see any.

you can grind your stock spring perches down to slide over the aftermarket shock (i did to run my old springs). it seemed to work fine for me. I have bought the QA1 springs since though.

Thanks!
I will try it - My car was initially a V6 model, so springs should be good I think.. But will upgrade whenever money permits..

Save your money and get the QA1 R shocks for the front. I would not run 90/10's on a street car anyway.

Reason being - my whole drivetrain has been transferred from my now totalled 87 Trans Am into my new donor car 94 Firebird.. Including: 406 mini, stock thirdgen ECM,T56, rear suspension.
That car N/A ran 10.87 @ 126 best with 1.42 best N/A 60ft.. Spraying at 15 mph ECM activated yielded 10.0 @ 132 with 1.38 best 60ft.. all on pump gas.

That was a combo of Jegster TQ arm, Stock swaybar, LCA relocations on second hole, 28x10 hoosiers. Tubular K,Coil overs 14" x 185lbs, Lakewood 90/10s struts.

This combo worked and worked well... It was great on the street as well.
As a matter of fact I sold the struts to a member of LS1 tech - He has since told me how much better the car is on the street than he expected..

Since transplanting to this car I can't get the 60fts I was.. The car wants to bog a little.. It seems to me that the front is not transferring nearly fast enough to absorb some of the launch energy and keep the car moving as opposed to bogging some as it is or spinning others.

This new car has the complete rear set-up from the thirdgen - but the front is still stock.. It needs to travel..

Here is a vid of 11.1@ 124
http://media.putfile.com/111-et-124-mph

here is another through muffler 11.29
http://media.putfile.com/ta-vs-ta

Sorry, my tracks scoreboard broke and they will not fix till season is over - its making us all mad..

if you are going 1.38 60' and wanting more, you really need to spend the money and buy some decent shocks/springs.

You have that wrong - The old car would get 1.38s spraying at 15 mph.
This car will not come close... But yes, still need decent shocks/springs - not stockers.

Your only options are QA1's and more expensive shocks like Strange.

Thanks again,
Just ordered Strange single adjustables - $149 each from BMR..
Seems Strange is about4-5 days behind on these though
Will be modifying stock spring perches to fit until I can get the coil overs..
