I would not be so quick to dismiss the stock heads, I see it as two choices, port the stockers or buy a set of trickflows from someone like Advanced Induction and have them ported before you ever see them. Using them as cast would be a mistake.
After rereading your post looks like you already have the cobbled together shortblock???
The full Compstar package is better than Eagle stuff and the price can not be beat for the quality.
If the shortblock is together we need specs because it may dictate your head choice.

Depends on the pistons, if the pistons already have a big dish then the 64cc chamber might be too big.

Look at the AFR heads if you can get your hands on some. Get those ported by a reputable company or person and get them to match them and a cam to your setup. You need to decide what kind of FI you're going to do and how much before you can go much further.

Thanks guys for your reply.the block is not put together it needs to get line bored for the eagle main caps. Also, i would like to have a set of compstar rods they are a step up from eagle. My brother has a 85mustang WITH a 395ci smallblock chevy turbo makeing 760rwhp with an eagle rotating assembly and the ET`s are 9.40@147mph .WE have had good luck with eagle.
