Default What to use to hold gasket on headlights

I need to put something on the gasket/seal on my headlights. It appears to have some type of 2 sided tape. Any suggestions?

If using double sided tape go with the 3M brand, forget the cheap stuff! Go 3M red backing tape!

I was thinking of using that since it will hold anything but I'm worried it might be too thick.

Why don't you try clear RTV silicone? It works good, dries clear, holds strong once it cures, and it will blend with the headlight, plus its available at any auto parts store for about $3.97 ..... I bought a tube today to fix the clear lenses on my moms expedition!
