Default Mickey Thompson vs Hoosier slicks?

For those who have tried both, which tire hooks better? Mickey Thompson ET DRAG slicks or Hoosier drag slicks. 28X10.5X15 six speed car. Looking to hear your opinions, Thanks.

id try and cahnge the title because neither are slicks...both are drag radials...both hook well i know people cuttin 1.4x on both of them in heave street cars...id give m/t the edge though thats what most people use and im sure theres a reason...prolly compund

.

Mickey 29 X 10 & Hoosier 29 X 10W.

Hoosier worked much better & lasted longer. 3000 lb car with 1000+ HP.

I have used both and liked both. I run MT because of contigency. Just make sure you run their full slicks and not the ET Streets.

what the hell are you talking about? ET DRAG is not a drag radial and neither is the Hoosier slicks. I am not interested in the drag radials, et streets, or Quick time pros.

MICKEY THOMPSON ET DRAG SLICKS vs HOOSIER DRAG SLICKS

I have run both

My opinon is the Hoosier was more consistent than the Mickey, hooked better on a marginal track

Nothing wrong with the Mickey though just seemed that the Hoosier worked better on my car

Hoosier - but for a different reason - M/T is selling off their name.

Hoosier - has been working with several different types of vehicles to build a better tire.

I like m/t's the best personaly. I've ran hoosiers, m/t's and good years. There all good but after a few races, the hoosiers get a little inconsistent from the testing I've done. m/t also supports and sponsers our sport better then the others as well.

In a "drag slick", Hoosier is better in my opinion.

Thanks for the input guys. I thought it was strange that everybody prefers Hoosiers here since i tend to see more people run Mickey Thompsons. maybe i'll give the hoosiers a try..

more opinions are welcomed!

I have a set of Hoosier 29x9 DO5 slicks and I only picked up .25 in et and less than 1 mph over my Nitto 275/60-15 DR's. The Hoosier is 1" taller and the Nittos are 2" wider, so the DR should have a larger contact patch so I would call it pretty even. In a nutshell, I was a little disappointed with the full slick, I was expecting a lot more than a 1/4 of a second out of them.

DANIEL6718-Most people use m/t tires because they are the most popular. Walk in to a tire store around my place and m/t's are on the shelf all others must be ordered. That dont mean M/T's are the best. I have tried M/T et streets(hi-1.6 60 foots)ET drags and hoosier hi-1.5 to low 1.6 60's) as well, all were wrinkle wall tub tires. The M/T's streets didn't hook well at all for me,the et street sucks and the drag was as almost as good as the hoosier. the hoosier was better, but not by a lot. the hoosier tire had some tread like the et street. The tire that seems to work well for me is the M&H Racemaster cheeter slick low 1.5's all day and now I get 1.42 60's on motor with them. www.intercotire.com I run the 26x11.5x15 on weld drag lights. What works for me may not work for you and so on and so on.

I run the 28/10.5-15S (stiff sidewall) and the car hooks great, I had the Hoosiers before but they weren't stiff sidewall. I just put tubes in my tires now the car reacts alot faster and launches a hell of alot harder. My vote for a M6 would be the stiff sidewall MT's.
