Holyshit!

Why don't we have that!!!

Because the US car industry is to stuburn to look outside the box and realise that its sub company's are turning out some bloody good products. At least you guys are getting the G8

Holyshit!

Why dotn we have that!!!

We have had some very good cars here for years. Aussies just won't go for large FWD cars. So we get excellent RWD models to choose from. The Ford guys have a top range as well. From quad cam v8's to turbo 4.0l Typhoons. Our utes are also a blast . Back in the early 70's the worlds fastest 4 door production car was built in Australia. The worlds fastest production ute "pickup" is also an Aussie model, last years HSV .

The only downside here is we don't get vettes or mustangs offered by the manufacturers so we are light on sports cars. We do however get big fast 4 door daily drivers. :)

I have a new GM SS, aka G8 it is a blast to drive handles brilliantly as the balance is just about perfect front to rear.

I have been to the states a couple of times and to be honest have been dissapointed with a lot of the offerings from the car companies to the masses. Every rental car is a FWD I actually nearly took back a Pontiac Bonneville when I realised it was FWD and swapped for a Caddy but wife thought I was being a bit picky. :eyes:

Have a look at this site.

Not to highjack Elimin8or's thread but after being overseas a few times, I feel that us in the states get hosed big time when it comes to cars that are available for us to purchase not only from GM but ford as well. I remember seeing something awhile back, I think it was on Top Gear or whatever the name of the show may have been, it was basically a Supercharged HSV coupe that was putting out some good numbers...

I'll have to checkout that video when I get home since I can't view it from work. I'm happy we're at least getting the G8, I'm really looking forward to purchasing that car once I graduate from college. I'll use the mid life crisis excuse to mod the hell out of it once it's paid off... lol

Oh wow...now thats a car!!! Why dont they offer this in the US...

Oh wait they do, its called the GTO...this one just happened to be SC'd. Did Americans buy the GTO? No. So now you know why GM wont sell these cars here. Blame the market, not GM.

I own a GTO myself and I cant understand why it wasnt a huge car here.

I am in agreement. It's our crappy market, high fuel costs and metrosexual wierdos. If everyone was like us, this wouldn't be an issue. Camaros, Caprice SS's, Impala SS's, Trans Ams, Firebirds, GTO's and cough cough cough, Mustangs FOREVER. Trucks are trucks. That's all. Can't everyone see what cool cars are?
