Try just bleeding it first, and I've heard several times to just stick with the GM master cyl and you can do the adj mod to it if its absolutely necessary

Well i would try bleeding first... then just do the adjustable mod for your stock master cyl, its in a sticky at the top of this section i believe.

Yeah But I Kind Of Feel More Comfortable Replaceing The Master Just Because Once In A While It Gets Kind Of Spongy Like Theres A Little Slack In It.

Did you wrap your clutch line in heater hose? We have a bad problem with boiling the fluid in these cars especially if you have headers. I would just replace your master with a stock GM unit and make it adjustable if you wish.

I have the Mcleod and hate it. But I hear the new ones are better. Have you tried to shim your slave yet?

I like my McLeod, its a good master cylinder. With the low engagement you may want to try bleeding a half a can of fluid through the system first and then give it time, clutches often engage low at first but after a quick break in the engagement will move up some.

Ok your posts are hard to read, stop using caps on the first letter of every word!!!

Just get 2 feet of line and cut it as needed. 5/8 or something in that area should do the trick.

i have the RAM Adj master...i chose it bc it was cheaper than the Mcleod.

Only problem I had was the little ball joint part that goes onto the clutch pedal was too wide, and we couldnt get the clip on. So we just used a dremel and grinded it down a little to get it to fit. Other than that...im pleased, and WS6store had a good deal.

But im wondering if the problem is that the line is not big enough so thats why im thinking the mcleod because i think it has the bigger bore on it.

Yes the mcleod has a larger bore than the stock master.

But is the mcleod overkill with my spec 2 clutch set up and is everyone carrying the the new ones that are supposed to be the corrected ones from the old version that everyone was haveing problems with before. And who has the best prices on them right now

Its not overkill, how do you rate master cylinders in terms of "overkill" anyway?

I dont know about there being a corrected version, but FWIW I just rebuilt my Mcleod and its so damn easy, plus once the seals start to leak you will notice it and have plenty of time to plan for the rebuild. The entire rebuild including removal and reinstallation takes like 2 hours.

I just installed my ram a couple of days ago and I like it so far. I think I need to readjust it since it is too low and doesn't disengage correctly under high reving shifts.
