Newbie LS1 Perofmance Questions
Well I've had my car for 7 years and finally decided to that I want to do some performance upgrades. My car is a daily driver so I'm looking for simple stuff that'll give me some even better performance, and into the mid to high 12's. I'm thinking the following. SLP Air Box, LS6 Intake, Ported TB, possibly new exhaust system (either SLP LM or GMMG) though I have a Flowmaster muffler on it now, and some new gears maybe like the stock WS6 3.23's or do the factory 3.42's work just as well on an AT4 as the M6? Is there anything else that is an essential bolt on for the LS1 that I'm forgetting?

But... your right about the 6 speed part. All come with 3.42 gears.

If you go up in gear skip the 3.42 and get a 3.73. After you add a little horsepower with the bolt ons you mentioned get a good size stall. Since it will be a lockup it doesnt hurt driveability much at all.

Thank's for the great input guys! I knew the regular WS.6's had 3.23's and the M6's had 3.42's. I had read in another post about going with the 3.42's on an automatic. So it made me wonder if I should skip the 3.23's for 3.42's, if that was possible. Who makes the Longtubes and offroad Y-Pipes is that SLP? Which brand set up would you guys recommend? Saying I drive fairly normally with some racing every once in a while. I definitely want to keep drivability as it's my Daily Driver for now. Is there any stall converters you guys recommend in specific?

I went with pacesetter LT and TSP ORY, I have been very pleased and they had a great price. I went with a vigilante conv and have never had any problems with it not locking up or anything. As far as size, you would have to look at that when you decide on gears and if your going to do a cam etc.
