I believe Summit buys from Motive, which are decent gears. Bob

Default Summit gears

I believe they are Richmond seconds...Meaning not good enough for Richmond to put there name on. I tried to set up a couple of these gear sets and had nothing but headaches...I sent them back and got a refund. No thanks...they are cheap for a reason. Jim

summit brand gears dont all come from the same vendor,, they different rear ends come from differnet places,, i have used several of there brand sets, not by choice, but when a cust comes over and they have there own parts already,

the summit 8.8" ring and pinions seemed to be a very quality gear and packeged very good while the summit gm 7.5" ring and pinions seemed to be very low quality,, machined sloppy and packaged very poorly, showing up rusted in the box

I just had a set of the Summit 4.10 gears installed installed in my spare rear end. I didn't see any sloppy machining that was visible to the eye. I even compared them side by side with the GM gears that we took out. My friend who set them up for me builds heavy truck diferentials and transmisions for a living. He said they looked as good as any gear that he installs on a daily basis. They were also packaged just fine and certainly weren't rusted.

We like the Motive gears best, the Richmonds a close second. Not sure of the Summit prices but we stock the Motives for a decent price.
