Default LT1 6sp work w/a LS1?

Will a LT1 6sp work with a LS1 if you swap the bellhousing or are there other problems also?

LT1 t56 has a clutch fork and slave cylinder, so you'd have to swap an LS1 front plate and input shaft to utilize the LS1 style hydraulic throwout bearing to make it work.

I'm converting my Lt1 t56 to a Ls1 now. If your trans has low miles it's worth it, if not you are better off selling it. Sixspeeds inc will give you a credit for your Lt1 parts and sell you the Ls1 parts.

the input lt1 shafts are smaller then the ls1's my friend... you got it the other way around.

im in the process of upgrading my lt1 t56 to a ls1 style input shaft to be compatible with a 76' 455 pontiac motor. the lt1s have the smaller input shaft which is why i needed to upgrade to the ls1 style for everything to work.
